Community

At Oasis Church, we live out the principles of Acts 2 (Found Here) in two ways: weekend worship gatherings and House Churches. We embrace a “both/and” approach, seeing the importance of both the large and small gatherings. Both serve an important purpose. One without the other will leave the believer incomplete and out of balance. Large group worship gatherings without involvement in a smaller setting makes it almost impossible to live out the word of God in community. Whereas, smaller gatherings without the involvement in the larger gathering will cause the believer to be disconnected from the body at large and void of spiritual, biblical authority.

Part of the way we emulate the teachings in Acts 2:42-47 is by living out community in groups that meet weekly in our homes, called House Churches. During the gathering you will share a meal, study scripture and engage in prayer and communion. This group serves as an intimate source of encouragement and accountability. House Churches are also outwardly focused and community driven, facilitating a local and global mission, meeting the needs of the group and church as a whole, and understanding the importance of multiplying.

Our house churches are spread throughout the community in East and West Ormond, Daytona, South Daytona, and Port Orange.

Salvation

God created the world and everything in it – including you – and He wants to begin a personal, one-on-one relationship with you. God, the Creator of the universe, loves you and has a purpose for your life. And because of that, His plans are better than your plans. None of us can measure up to some impossible religious standard to know Him; faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior is the only “step” to salvation. The message of the Bible is abundantly clear: we have all sinned against God (Romans 3:23). Because of our sin, we deserve to be eternally separated from God (Romans 6:23); but because of His love for us (John 3:16), God took on human form and died in our place, taking the punishment that we deserve (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21). Through His death and resurrection, Jesus took all of your wrong and gave you all of His right. If you believe this and commit to following Him, your life will never be the same. It’s as simple as turning from your sin, declaring you want to follow Jesus, and believing
He is who He says He is.

Have you recently made this decision? Believing in Jesus is the first step on the greatest journey of your life. You haven’t finished the race –
you’ve only just begun. The best is yet to come!

Whether you prayed just now as you read through this page or prayed at home to follow Jesus, we would love to come alongside you. Please let us know about your salvation decision, and someone from our team will be in touch. If a friend invited you to Oasis, we encourage you to let them know about your decision; we know they'll want to celebrate with you!

Baptism

Baptism doesn’t save you; it’s an act of obedience and a symbol of salvation (1 Peter 3:21). Baptism is the outward expression of an inward reality. It’s a public declaration of how Jesus changed your life. Being baptized shows others that you’ve decided to follow Jesus and allows them to celebrate this decision with you (Acts 16:31-34).

When disciples of Christ are baptized, they are immersed under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus, and then raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection. The power that brought Jesus back to life is the same power He uses to change our lives – and that’s worth getting excited about!
